Organic cotton socks are not an indulgence, they are useful for a variety of reasons. Socks made from organic fabrics are durable, and nowadays, affordable, as many organic clothiers have turned to fabricating socks organically due to growing demand.

Organic socks come in several styles, sizes, and are made from several different organic materials such as cotton, hemp and bamboo, the latter two being naturally anti-bacterial, which is a sound choice for a stinky-prone sock. Did you just read that? Yes, you did. Anti-bacterial. One brand we particularly love, OrganicBasics, has gone even further by developing a Silver covered fiber blended with organic cotton, resulting in an organic cotton sock that is odor-controlling and heat regulating. Other brands, like REI and Patagonia specialize in performance socks made of recyclable materials.

While most organic socks are made from cotton, hemp and bamboo (as mentioned) are becoming very popular due to their natural ability to be anti-bacterial. In fact, hemp and bamboo have become quite the organic and eco-friendly product for more than just furniture, clothing and flooring. It would probably be easier to list the things you cannot do with bamboo and hemp than all the things you can!

Organic cotton socks are also great for the fact that they are naturally durable due to non-harmful processing, dying, and no chlorine bleaching. Socks that are made in mass production using harmful chemicals do not get the same fabrication that organic socks get from being produced naturally. This way the fabric stays strong and retains its natural strength.
